Strengthening healthcare-linked value chains is a top priority for the pan-African agenda. Swiss-linked global healthcare and international trade networks play a key role in global life sciences and operate within African healthcare ecosystems and pharmaceutical value chains.
Two events (one virtual preparatory meeting ‘Road to Cape Town’ on 7 March and an in-person event on the sidelines of the AfCFTA Business Forum entitled ‘Moving toward sustainable healthcare systems: Swiss-linked networks as part of an evolving pan-African healthcare ecosystem’ in Cape Town between 16-19 April) are being organized by the Swiss-African Business Circle in partnership with the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers IFPMA, Novartis and Inqaba Biotec.
These events aim to create platforms for exchange between the AfCFTA Secretariat, pan-African institutions, the African and international private sector as well as Swiss-linked networks, to discuss the rapidly evolving pan-African institutional landscape that will shape healthcare systems and ultimately the health of African populations on the continent going forward.
